Make Your Moving Day Easy - Keep Your Home Safe With Delta Locksmith

I love living in a new home, getting used to my new surroundings, enjoying the new scenery. I can’t believe that I used to I abhor moving day. Everything about the actual move stressed me out. I’d done it so many times one might have thought that I was quite the expert, but no, the more times I moved the more stressed it made me. Until I figured it out, or honestly, I got help, and I realized that all I needed to do was plan for the move.
Figure it all out, and I’m not just talking moving day checklist planning, I mean real planning.

So, before my last move I got down to business, and drew up a very detailed list of every aspect of the move. The list included what I needed to do before leaving my old home and what I needed to do to my new home so it would be completely ready before we moved in, and of course details of the actual move were listed there too.

It worked! The move went smoothly and the part that I always hated in a move – having the new house ready before actually moving in, went so well that I decided to share a few tips here with you.

Residential locksmith services

Everyone knows that before moving in you should complete all renovations and decorating, you can’t start unpacking until that’s done, right? But it is also best to complete all the other “small” jobs that have to be done. So, even if it means moving in a little later it’s best to move in once the whole house is ready and you won’t have workers walking all over, disturbing you while you try to unpack.

One of the most important things to do is have your new home assessed by a home security expert. Most locksmith companies provide this service.
A couple of weeks before moving in schedule with a locksmith company to have someone come over and check out your new home and give you a quote.
Take advantage of this opportunity to ask any questions you might have, both about your home and also about any equipment that they suggest installing. If you have done some online research (which I recommend doing) on home security ask the locksmith their opinion on what you have read.

Change the locks!! Yes, even if the house is new I recommend changing the locks, or rekeying them. The rule here is the same as with homes that have been lived in – you don’t know who has a spare key or whether the key has been copied. For your own peace of mind, get new keys.

Doing these few things on time made my move so much smoother and less stressful for me.
I hope your move goes as well for you!
